Earlier this Session, we provided an update on the wave of changes to committee membership due to the large number of new members joining the Virginia General Assembly and several leaving to join Governor Spanberger’s Administration. Since that article was posted, several additional changes have occurred due to positions becoming official in the Executive Branch and Special Elections.
Senator Adam Ebbin left the chamber after Crossover to serve as a Senior Advisor at the Virginia Cannabis Control Authority. Delegate Elizabeth Bennett-Parker and Delegate Mike Jones both officially became Senators. Charles Schmidt, Garrett McGuire, and Kirk McPike were also sworn in as Delegates.
Delegate Barry Knight tragically passed recently. A Special Election for the 98th District on March 17.
